The Italian Association for Health Education (AIES) arose from the need to create common points of encounter among those interested in and working on education for health activities.
AIES is a way of bringing various experiences together, to reflect on the methods with which health education problems are dealt with and of working together in promotion actions. It intends to contribute to the development of health education which is based on the comunity, beginning with the comunity's needs, enableing those involved to know of the existing health problems, stimulating participation and collaboration between health workers and the population.
Members of the Association are health and social workers, university professors and secondary, middle, elementary and nursery school teachers and citizens interested in the development of education for health.
The head office and legal seat of the Association is the Experimental Centre for Health Education interuniversity (CSESi), University of Perugia.
The Association has various Regional Sections, with autonomus administrative and organisational functions within the framework of the general programmes established annually by the Association.
Individuals who participate or collaborate to health education activities can become members of the Association (individual members).
To become a member it is necessary to send an application to the President of the Regional Section in your area.
