Course content

Origin, evolution and functions of living organisms. The principal steps of live on earth. The principal levels of morphological organization in the plants: thallophytes, cormophytes. Morphological organization in the root, stem and leaf. Metamorphoses. The cell, characters and functions; growth and differentiation of vegetal cells; meristems and tissues. Morphological aspects of germination: embryo, organogenesis. The root, stem and leaf: anathomy and functions in monocotyledones and dycotyledones. The flowers and sexual reproduction.

Prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells. Cell wall, plastids, vacuoles. Meristems. Vegetal tissues. Plant anatomy-organography.

1. Knowledge of optical and electronic microscopies.

2. Knowledge of techniques of double staining.

3. Knowledge of techniques of cutting plant material (microtome and ultramicrotome).

4. Preparation of plant material for Cyto-histological observation.

5. Preparation of plant materials for anatomical observation.

6. Removing and observation of plant material for the morphological study.

7. Preparation of material related to morphological changes.
