Specific admission requirements and specific arrangements for recognition of prior learning

Secondary School Diploma or equivalent foreign degree or another recognizable qualification (DM 270/04, Art. 6, paragraphs 1 and 2). Students are requie to take a non-selective, but orientative entry test. Remedial courses are offered when necessary.

 

Profile of the programme

The Degree Course prepares professional educators for infancy and personal services; ability to operate in the territory, in public and private structures. Graduates will know how to programme educational pre-school, school and extra-curricular projects and also respond to the educational situations of social disadvantage and mental health problems. He/she will plan cultural programmes for the use of premises for culture and art; operate in agencies of promotion and cultural mediation through educational and formative projects.

 

Qualification requirements and regulations

Didactic activity is divided into semesters. The course consists of 180 credits for three years, each year of 60 credits. Activities are planned for 12 weeks in the first semester, 12 weeks in the second semester. For more information, please refer to the Academic Regulations www.unipg.it / sdf.

Key learning outcomes

knowledge and understanding

Graduates acquire knowledge and skills in the epistemological, methodological and disciplinary fields of educational sciences, within the sectors of psychology, sociology, philosophy, art, history, linguistics and computers; situations include problems relating to the formation of an educational culture. Students acquire knowledge, skills and methodologies in the areas of integration, human services and the promotion of education and culture.

 

applying knowledge and understanding

Graduates acquire relational, applicative and operational skills, in order to understand the problematic situations of both individuals and groups in the area. They also know how to formulate and argue solutions and interventions that are able to translate into educational and formative activities, the knowledge, skills and methods acquired in theory.

 

making judgements

Graduates will know how to gather information, analyze and process it, to provide interpretations of educational demand and individual and group formation emerging from the territories; they will be able to formulate independent judgment and set solutions in the relevant context, emphasizing epistemological, anthropological, ethical, socio-cultural aspects

 

communication skills

Graduates acquire skills in the communication of ideas and solutions in the management of  information and projects; know how to liaise with specialists and non-specialists. They know how to use a foreign language; use a multicultural approach with a view to integration in the service of the person; reach a good level in the use of ICT in particular, with regard to the didactic and formative use of them.

 

learning skills

Graduates will develop the ability to acquire in-depth knowledge and to think critically in order to continue with independent studies of pedagogical science and education.

Examination regulations, assessment and grading

The results of these activities will be verified in written and / or oral form and through ongoing assessments with examinations marked on a scale of thirty. The verification standards are determined by the law in force.

Graduation requirements

In order to be admitted to the final examination, students need to have completed all the credits provided in the training activities of the curriculum and passed the examinations. The final exam is a written paper on a specific discipline or content based on the experience of training or workshops in which supervised and coordinated by a professor of the course. It can be carried out in a foreign language.

Mode of study (full-time, part-time, e-learning, ...)

Full-time attendance is mandatory for 75% of the lectures.

Occupational profiles of graduates with examples

Professional educator in services to the person, community and social services, in public and private structures; Promotion of educational programmes in cultural services; instructing and tutoring activities in education and training in the public and private sectors and in the vast territorial current situation, and professional qualification courses. Educator of children in pre-school, school and non-school structures and in other activities that require specific skills, both in the public and private sectors. Graduates in Educational Sciences (DM 270) can participate in the competitions organized by public and private institutions in the areas of competence.

 

Access to further studies

The degree gives access to the Master’s degree in Counseling and Educational Co-ordination of training (L/M85) in post-graduate courses, and degrees in the fields of humanities.
