Specific admission requirements and specific arrangements for recognition of prior learning

The Degree Course in Judicial and Administrative Officer is a non – limited access degree course. In order to be admitted to the degree course, students must have requirements provided for by article 6, paragraph 1, of DM 22nd October 2004, n. 270 and subsequent modifications and integrations. Furthermore, in accordance with the same article 6, paragraphs 2 and 3, an orientation test is compulsory to verify the possession or necessary requirements to the access to the degree course. This test, which does not prevent enrolment, consists in a questionnaire focused on general culture profiles: texts comprehension, logic and grammatical and the syntactic knowledge of the Italian language. In case of failure of the test, the student shall fill his/her own gaps through some supplementary readings relevant to the fields assessed poor in the evaluation of orientation tests. The basic knowledge required is usually acquired through a secondary school diploma awarded in Italy or an equivalent qualification awarded abroad.

Profile of the programme

The Degree in Judicial and Administrative Officer attests the knowledge of the legal system in its essential characteristics. The study programme provides students with a  methodological basis for the analysis of the institutional and economical context and for a fruitful intervention on it. The programme allows the analysis of problems connected to the legal and administrative systems, in order to provide the basis for undertaking the career of officer in public and justice administrations.

 

Qualification requirements and regulations

The Degree course in Judicial and Administrative Officer has a duration of three years. For each year of the  course, students are expected to obtain 60 credits.

Each credit corresponds to 25 hours of overall commitment for each student.

The didactic activity of the Degree Course is carried out online throughout the academic year.

The study programme of the degree Course is organized in four curricula: public administration, Defense, Internal Affairs and Finance; career advice; company judicial officer.

Key learning outcomes

Upon completion of the course, students shall achieve a cognitive and formative learning to be fruitfully used, in the specific field of competencies, means for general information exchange, having adequate abilities for communication and information management also with computer and telematic tools and methods; the acquired cognitive learning shall also enable students to manage complex procedures, both under a legal and managerial point of view, involved in the activity of the judicial and administrative officer.

Examination regulations, assessment and grading

Didactic credits relevant to core, characterizing, non – departmental complementary and elective activities, together with the ones relevant to the final examination, are awarded upon passing the latter, in the presence of and respectively of the graduation exam. The didactic credits relevant to the formative activities for the knowledge of at least one foreign language are awarded upon passing an oral aptitude test.

Further to the exam, intermediate tests and the quality of participation in the online activity concur to the formative outcomes assessment. To this end, the certification of formative outcomes is achieved through the automatic layout of formative activities by the system; didactic and technical monitoring in continuous feedback by the tutor; formative ongoing verifications, also for self  - assessment.

Graduation requirements

In order to pass the final examination, the student shall have acquired all other credits.

The final examination of the degree course involves alternatively:

a) drawing up of an original written thesis, under the supervision of a professor acting as supervisor and discussed by the candidate before a Degree Board;

b) drawing up of a short written paper with a theoretical – practical content under the supervision of a professor acting as supervisor and discussed by the candidate before a Degree Board.

The grading to be awarded to the final examination is evaluated on a scale of 110, with the possibility to confer honours, as the maximum grading, unanimously by the members of the Board. The grading calculation involves, on one hand, the average of examinations evaluated on a scale of 110 and, on the other, the grading awarded by the Board.

 

Mode of study (full-time, part-time, e-learning, ...)

As an e-learning Degree Course, course attendance is not provided for; all students use the platform APE – learning..

The didactic activity of online courses  is provided by the learning programme for the formation of students, through online modes.

Occupational profiles of graduates with examples

The e – learning Degree Course in Judicial and Administrative Officer is organized in four curricula oriented towards the following career and professional opportunities: a) public  administration; b) Defense, Internal Affairs and Finance; c) job consultancy; d) company judicial officer

 

Access to further studies

The Degree in Judicial and Administrative Officer will provide access to the following curricula, such as Vocational Masters, enrolment on two – year specialization courses and, subject to prior recovery of necessary credits, enrolment on Master’s degree courses such as, in particular, in Law and Company Economics.
