Specific admission requirements and specific arrangements for recognition of prior learning
The knowledge necessary for enrolment in the Advanced Degree course is acquired normally through completion of a first level degree, preferably in the class of degree 18 – Science of Economics and of Business Management.
Acceptance in the Advanced program is, however, contingent upon verification of the candidate’s being in possession of the curricular requirements and his/her personal preparation.
The curricular requirements must amount to at least 81 credits composed as follows: IUS -01 9 ECTS credits; IUS-04, 9 ECTS credits; SECS-P/01, 9 ECTS credits; SECS-P/07, 18 ECTS credits; SECS-P/08, 9 ECTS credits; SECS-P/11, 9 ECTS credits; SECS-S/01 or SECS-S/03 9 ECTS credits; SECS-S/06, 6 ECTS credits.
Candidates who have completed a three-year degree with a grade equal to or above 95/110 have the necessary requirements of personal preparation.
Candidates who have a grade inferior to that indicated are required to pass a test in order to ascertain their personal preparation. The test will take place in September of every year.
Profile of the programme
The Degree program in Economics and Executive Management for Business (main office Terni) is designed to provide the student a thorough knowledge of business economics, economics, mathematics-statistics and law. Such knowledge will be acquired through a combination of subjects and learning methods which will provide students with the ability to face business problems from an integrated and specialized view point common to the executive ranks of management when dealing with planning and management of change. Graduates will be highly qualified for executive management in manufacturing and commercial activities of medium and large dimensions; in consulting and financial intermediary firms; in the public administration at the centralized or local level. They will, in short, be highly competent in positions requiring ability to implement strategies for a competitive market through the organization of the principal business functions and necessitating a vast knowledge of managerial processes and the logic of entrepreneurial decisions.
Qualification requirements and regulations
The Advanced Degree in EEMB [EDA] is a 2 year program during which the student must acquire 120 credits. It is designed to provide the students with the advanced training and knowledge required for employment of a specialized and/or managerial nature in manufacturing and commercial activities of medium and large dimensions; in consulting and financial intermediary firms; in the public administration at the centralized or local level which require a profound knowledge of executive functions and of the logic of entrepreneurial decisions.
The courses allow the students to complete and develop their knowledge in the fields most relevant to this class of degree program ( economic, legal, quantitative, business-economic) and to develop the applications in the diverse functional areas of business and the activities of economic-financial supervision.
The course of studies is organized on a semester basis and instruction will be provided with frontal lessons, seminars, presentations and discussions of case studies, lectures delivered by directors and entrepreneurs (from both the private and public sectors), and a final exam. The degree course does not provide for curricula.

Key learning outcomes
Upon completion of the program the EEMB graduates are able to analyze and comprehend in detail various scenarios of the economy and competition in order to manage financial portfolios and provide professional consultation to businesses. They will also have perfected their ability to apply various statistical instruments to business activities. The constant balance of the different disciplines between theoretical content and technical/professional content allow graduates to apply their specialized and highly qualified knowledge to a large number of situations that concern companies. In order to enhance the learning experience many courses include practical exercises, discussions of case studies, lectures by entrepreneurs, managers and professionals, as well as seminars held by professors from other Italian and foreign universities.
Consequently, the theoretical, methodological and technical know-how acquired through a course of interdisciplinary studies provide the EEMB graduate with the ability to make autonomous evaluations.
Furthermore, after completing the course work, the student will be able to communicate clearly and effectively; to interact in a one-to-one or group situation, in a variety of businesses and in diverse working environments. The student will develop an ability to interact in an international context thanks to his or her experiences acquired in the Erasmus program.
Examination regulations, assessment and grading
The professors will use written/oral exams in order to ascertain the students’ level of progress. A final grade with a maximum of 30 points, and relative to the number of credits for each course, will be assigned upon completion of the exam. Other tests included in the study plan will be evaluated on a pass/fail basis.
The final examination consists in the elaboration and discussion, before a special Commission, of an original written dissertation of a scientific nature which has been agreed upon with the student’s advising professor.
The Commission is composed of at least seven members and two substitutes and is chaired by a full professor. The Degree is granted with a final grade with a maximum of 100 percentile points. This grade is based on the grade point average of the exams evaluated in relation to the credits for each exam with the addition of the final grade expressed by the Commission.
The Degree Commission may grant a maximum of seven percentage points to the final report, and if unanimous the designation cum laude.
Graduation requirements
The Degree is granted upon the completion of 120 credits.
Mode of study (full-time, part-time, e-learning, ...)
Full time study is advised even though part time is acceptable. Attendance is not mandatory, though strongly advised.
Occupational profiles of graduates with examples
Graduates will find employment opportunities principally in high level positions in the area of managerial functions, in consulting firms and in freelance professions in economic fields . It is also possible, with respect to existing regulations, for graduates to teach business-economic subjects.
Access to further studies
The Advanced degree course allows EEMB graduates to further their studies in a second level university Masters program and as Doctors of research in economics and management.
