The Earth's Atmosphere and its interactions with the planet; The structure of the Earth; plate tectonics, continental drift, subduction zones and ocean ridges, paleomagnetism, seismic; processes and continental sedimentary environments, transitional and marine; recognition of sedimentary rocks and their constituents; Geo-structural adjustment of the Mediterranean area; relations between the atmosphere, lithosphere, hydrosphere and biosphere.

Educational objectives
Knowledge of the Earth's structure; Knowledge of phenomena related to plate tectonics; Basic seismic knowledge; Ability to recognize the main types of sedimentary rocks; Knowledge of sedimentation processes and sedimentary structures that are generated in marine and continental sedimentary environments. Being able to understand the relationships and balances between the atmosphere, lithosphere, hydrosphere and biosphere.

Teaching methods
Lectures and laboratory for recognition of sedimentary and volcanic rocks.
Learning verification modality
Oral examination with a duration of at least 30 minutes.
