Certificate of completion of Italian upper secondary school or equivalent foreign qualification.
Evaluation of specific subject knowledge on entry
Verification of the knowledge required for the attendance of the course of study through a compulsory evaluation test of indicative and non-selective nature; if the test is not passed, the student will be given additional educational obligations and will be granted with: • alignment courses, • tutoring, • online alignment courses, • study of additional texts indicated by the course of study. For planned access courses, the admission test is also valid as a test of initial knowledge and additional educational obligations acquisition.
Profile of the programme
Profile of the program The degree course in Educational science has two distinct Curricula: Educator in Educative Services for Childhood (1st Curriculum) and Socio-Pedagogical Educator (2nd Curriculum). In relationship to the two different curricula the degree course aims to train in public and private structures, to plan educative actions in the pre-scholastic, scholastic and extra-scholastic environment. The course allows to acquire knowledges and capabilities on an epistemological, disciplinary and methodological level in the educational sciences among the pedagogical, psychological, medical, sociological, philosophical, artistical, historical, linguistical and information technology areas.
Programme learning outcomes
Graduates of the Program will be able to demonstrate: Hermeneutical capability in the field of the educational needs of intersubjective relationship; knowledges in the learning fields provided by the course; methodological and procedural knowledge in the field of educational sciences; ability to plan, work and organize educational actions in the pre-scholastic, scholastic and extra scholastic field in order to answer to the situations of social handicap, disadvantage or to special educational needs.
Qualification requirements and regulations
Admission to the final test for the achievement of the qualification will require that the student has acquired all the credits foreseen in the study plan for training activities other than the final test. The final test consists in a written paper on a specific disciplinary content or based on the experience done during the traineeship period as much as during the laboratories attended. The thesis will be prepared under the tutorship of a course’s teacher.

Examination regulations and grading scale Assessment is normally an oral or written exam; in some cases there are intermediate exams during the course; other evaluation elements (seminars, reports, etc.) can be foreseen in specific course units and are described in theCourse Unit Profiles. The grades for subject exams are measured in thirtieths (0-30 scale)
Obligatory or optional mobility windows
Obligatory or optional mobility windows For the incoming students the mobility windows are compulsory at the beginning of the first or second semester starting at the beginning of the lectures. For the other kind of mobilities (such as traineeship) the mobility windows are optional.
Work-based learning
Work-based learning The traineeship activities are considered as a very positive element for training and integration into employment. Students are continuously informed during the course on the different job opportunities in public and private fields. The worked based learning is for the teaching regulations of the course both an educative experience and an orientation into the job market.
Occupational profiles of graduates
Graduates are able to work in various working context, such as educator in the social services for childhood (0-3 years) or as educator in the social services for adult persons in the social communities and services.
