Prerequisites To understand the covered topics, the student must have knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology of the central nervous system.
Teaching methods Seminar lectures with Practical training
Other information It is recommended to attend the lessons. At the end of this course the student will be able to perform a neurological examination, as well as to formulate some diagnostic suspicion
Learning verification modality The assessment will be made by written or oral examination (lasting about 30 minutes) in which the student's knowledge regarding the neurological semiotics will be verified, as well as the major neurological diseases (etiology, epidemiology, clinical, differential diagnosis, diagnostic investigations, therapeutic indications).

Educational objectives The course is aimed to provide students adequate basic knowledge of psychiatric sciences.
At the end of the course students should be able to: 1) establish a relationship with the patient; 2) identify the main psychopathological pictures; 3) know the main therapeutic interventions.
Prerequisites In order to understand the contents of the teaching and to reach the learning aims, students must have the basic notion of human and social sciences, that they should have already acquired in his/her school curriculum.
Teaching methods The teaching is divided into lectures about the above mentioned topics and clinical cases.

Learning verification modality The exam is divided into:
- an oral test: a 15 minutes discussion for the assessment of the acquired knowledge of the student about the 5 above mentioned teaching topics. The test will take in consideration the pertinence of the acquired lexicon.
- a written test: there will be three sessions (summer, fall and winter sessions); the test is based on the appropriateness of the theoretical knowledge and of the capability in understanding and differentiate. In particular, it is composed by 15 multiple choice questions (n. 4), with 3 questions for each teaching topic. The test will be passed with 9 right questions. Average test time: 20 minutes.

Educational objectives Allow students to learn the fundamental elements for patient’s management in the Mental Health area, in particular, be able to:
