Contents The present course aims at provide a fundamental knowledge on clinical psychology and its field, including the role of clinical psychologist, diagnostic reasoning, and clinical process.
Reference texts English materials will be provided under request.
Educational objectives This is an introductory course to the Clinical Psychology field. The main aim is to offer both theoretical and methodological skills in order to better understand the characteristics of several clinical approaches.
Prerequisites Basic knowledge of general psychology and basic competence on the main psychological models of human mind.
Teaching methods Face-to-face lessons; group discussions.

Extended program Main topics will be: main theoretical models in clinical psychology; clinical thinking; main diagnostic systems; diagnostic process; defense mechanisms; mentalization; clinical sessions; therapeutic relationship; psychotherapy research studies and trauma-informed care.
