- The course focuses on the foundations of contemporary European legal systems starting from the common base of Roman law and analyzes some topics of public and private law.

- Provide the knowledge and understanding of the European legal roots and analyze particular themes. The course also aims to provide the student with a critical sense to address current problems in the European legal area.
- Prerequisites
- In order to understand the topics of the course and to achieve the aims of learning students attending and not attending must have a good historical and legal culture.

- The exam consists of an oral test aimed at verifying the knowledge and understanding of the topics covered by the course, as well as evaluating the student's presentation and reasoning skills. The duration may vary depending on the progress of the test.
- Extended program
- The European legal science has a long tradition that begins with the history of Rome. The course deals with the evolution leading to the contemporary European legal systems starting from Roman law, highlighting the elements of continuity and discontinuity, with insights on issues about citizenship, human rights and property right.
