Educational objectives
The course will focus on the Natura 2000 network and the plant species of the Umbria region. At the end of the course, students will acquire the keys to reading and interpreting the landscape. They will know the European regulations for protecting and conserving species and habitats. They will develop the essential skills to organize a monitoring plan critically. Finally, students will increase their cartographic skills using the open-source Qgis.
Prerequisites
There are no prerequisites
Teaching methods
- Traditional lectures, supported by PPT images, accompanied by interactive teaching.
- Laboratory activity focused on the determination of plant species.
- Field work focused on the monitoring of invasive alien species.
-Lab-based Course on QGIS
Other information
The course can also be done in English
Learning verification modality
Final oral exam: Students will have to answer questions on the topics covered during the course and laboratory activities.
