Educational objectives
The course deals with the problems related to renewable energies, starting with the general aspects including the Italian regulations on the subject also with reference to environmental aspects. Subsequently, the various technologies will be discussed, from biomass to hydroelectric, with particular attention to the possibilities of use on farms, with case studies at regional and national level. The student will have to acquire basic knowledge on the subject of renewable energies in agriculture, as an element of competitiveness for farms taking into account the strong commitments to which agriculture is called by the Green Deal.

Extended program
General framework and reference legislation. Renewable Energy from Agricultural Sources: Agroenergy supply chains - Biomass or thermochemical conversion (thermal energy, electricity), or biological conversion (bioethanol, biogas), or physico-chemical conversion (electrical energy, thermal energy, biodisel), or cogeneration. Renewable energy related to agricultural activities: photovoltaic and solar thermal. Other sources of renewable energy and future developments: hydroelectric and mini-hydro in canals and pipeline, wind and small wind turbine.
