Educational objectives
Knowledge and understanding of the concepts of the Geochemistry applied to exploration of natural resources, to the environmental problems and to the processes of generation, maturation, alteration and migration of hydrocarbons. Applying knowledge to geochemical data elaboration and interpretation.
Prerequisites
- Knowledge of English: indispensable.
- Mathematical and statistical basic concepts: important
- Fundamentals of the geochemistry of aqueous solutions: helpful
- Fundamentals of the geochemistry of gases: helpful
- Fundamentals of stable isotope geochemistry: helpful
Teaching methods
The lectures will take place as face-to-face lecture for many of the arguments with exception of practical training on the representation methods and mapping of geological and geochemical data.
Learning verification modality
The evaluation consists of a written test at the end of the course based on multiple choice questions, and an oral exam that verifies the learning of the main concepts developed during the course along with their applications.
