Contents
Some topics of Latin morphology in its historical development and of Latin syntax in its established rules. Language and style of II century’s b. C Roman history writers. Some issues about Latin didactics.

Educational objectives
This teaching is the last test students should face in their Master's degree in Philology, Literature and Ancient History within the matters whose subject is Latin Language and literature, The goals we intend students get to are: 1) excellent knowledge of syntax of Latin language in its established rules and in its historical development; 2) good knowledge of Latin nominal and verbal composition; 3) good ability in analysing Latin texts from linguistic, syntactic and stylistic point of view. These goals will be tested in final examination. The skills which  are attended to be improved are: logic-deductive abilities, self-contained capacity on judgment, critic approach to Latin texts. 
Prerequisites
In order to be able to understand and to Know how to tackle the course, students must have a very good knowledge of Latin morphology and syntax. This precondition is valid both for attending and non attending students.
Teaching methods
The course provides only frontal lectures, which embrace all topics of examination program.
Other information
Attendance to lectures is not compulsory, but recommended.
Learning verification modality
Written ending examination, which includes the translation of a rather difficult Latin passage, also with a very few multiple choice questions. The test will have a maximum duration of four hours. The purpose of the examination is to verify the competence acquired by students in Latin language and in its historical development.  After written test will come an oral examination to discuss and master written test. 
Extended program
Syntax of Latin language in its established rules: conditional sentences and oratio obliqua.Morphology of Latin language in its historical development: the Latin suffixation. Language and style of II century’s b. C Roman history writers: examination of some fragments of M. porcius Cato, L. Calpurnius Piso Frugi, Cassius Hemina etc. Some issues about Latin didactics: fulfillment of a didactic pattern on Latin nominal and verbal morphology.
