- The course deals with the technologies used, both in the academia and industry, to design and carry out catalytic reactions.
- Reference texts
- Attending students will be provided, in electronic form, with the same material used by the teacher for classroom lessons.
- Educational objectives
- The course provides to the student the knowledge regarding the importance of technologies in the development and execution of catalytic reactions. In particular, the course provides the acquisition of knowledge regarding the use of chemical technologies that are adopted to improve some aspects of catalysis such as:
- Selectivity
- Reactivity
- Safety
- Environmental sustainability - Prerequisites
- Knowledge of the elements of basic organic chemistry (Organic Chemistry I and II) and Catalysis is required
- Teaching methods
- The course includes frontal theoretical lessons, in order to facilitate the student in learning the chemical technologies for catalysis; The course also includes laboratory lessons in which students are placed in direct contact with the technologies addressed in the theoretical lessons.
In the theoretical lessons of 2 hours each, held in the classroom, the technologies and their functioning will be illustrated. Chemical problems will also be introduced to better understand the practical examples and how the adoption of technologies can influence the resolution of problems.
In the laboratory lessons, the technologies for catalysis will be used directly with particular emphasis on aspects such as flow chemistry, microwaves, ultrasounds, electrochemistry, heterogeneous catalysis, photochemistry. - Other information

- Learning verification modality
- The profit test includes the evaluation of written reports on laboratory activities and an oral exam, which will involve the formulation of 4-5 questions in about 40 minutes. The test is aimed at ascertaining the students' ability to evaluate how chemical technologies can be useful for solving problems of a chemical nature.
The overall assessment of the exam will take into account the following aspects: correctness and adequacy of the answers, processing capacity and conceptual connection, mastery and property of language, according to the following respective percentages: 60%, 20%, 20%.
