- An introduction to the main themes and problems of landscape anthropology starting with the definition of landscape in anthropological literature. Issues related to the category of cultural heritage, spatial network and the anthropocene, which identifies the geological era dominated by the human species, will also be addressed. The students will be able to participate in seminar activities and exercises.

- Expected learning outcomes
- knowledge and ability to understanding: knowledge of the main theoretical orientations in the study of landscape anthropology. Some main anthropological categories and problems related to environmental issues and to the construction, protection and valorisation of landscapes are to be acquired.
- Ability to apply knowledge and understanding: ability to analyse, synthesise and argue; critical and linking abilities, also interdisciplinary.
- Autonomy of judgement: capacity for diachronic organisation of data, personal evaluation and of synchronic utilisation of acquired skills, also with reference to the socio-cultural analysis of contemporaneity.
- Communication skills: ability to communicate knowledge in appropriate anthropological language.
- Expected learning outcomes: knowledge of the main theoretical orientations in the study of landscape anthropology and of the salient stages in the development of the discipline.

- Lectures, with discussion and student interventions in seminar activities.

- Class attendance is not compulsory but highly recommended.

- There is only one final assessment. The assessment consists of a final oral examination. The final examination mark is measured in thirtieths.
The examination is passed with a minimum mark of 18/30 up to a maximum of 30/30 - an honours mark may be added to the 30/30 mark.

- The main themes and problems of landscape anthropology will be highlighted in the teaching. The issues relating to the progressive and rapid mutation of environmental balances due to the intensified exploitation of natural resources by man has led to talk of the Anthropocene as a new geological era. A category that will be problematised during the election. The definition of landscape will also be examined in the anthropological literature will be examined. The main regulations governing landscape protection and enhancement will be discussed with a focus on the landscape representations and practices of local populations, with a comparative approach. Attending students will be able to participate in seminar activities and exercises.
