- The course provides students with basic and practical level of knowledge of the Chinese language, and the linguistic circumstances of contemporary China (level A2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages – HSK level 2).

- Basic knowledge of Chinese linguistics and active production (oral and written) of simple sentences (HSK level 2: A2).
- Prerequisites
- A good descriptive knowledge of the grammatical structures of the native language is recommended (ability to identify fundamental parts of speech and analysis of the sentence).
- Teaching methods
- Lessons in presence at the Department and at the CLA.
- Other information
- The validity of the test (written and oral) taken at the CLA is based on the regulations of the relevant structure.

- ORAL EXAM. Exam on the characteristics of the Chinese language and grammatical questions, sentence analysis and translation (including texts not read before), discussion of examples. The final grade is out of 30. The final grade for the entire exam is the average of the final CLA grade (preparatory to the department exam) and the final Department grade.
** Native Chinese-speaking students must take only the Department oral exam.
** For students taking an exam for 6 ECTS, which must be completed and recorded at the Department, the oral exams will be shorter.

• ONLINE EXAM REGISTRATION IS MANDATORY.

- The course aims to provide students with a basic and practical knowledge of the Chinese language and the linguistic circumstances of contemporary China (level A2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages – HSK level 2). The course introduces students to: linguistic knowledge of China; fundamentals of general Chinese linguistics; notions of linguistic typology and genetics; fundamental syntactic structures. Specifically, the course aims to provide students with an understanding of the history and development of the Chinese language and the linguistic situation in China (PRC). Basic Chinese linguistics will also be taught. Regarding grammatical knowledge, the course will focus on fundamental syntactic structures and grammatical analysis.
