Erasmus+
The Erasmus+ Study programme allows enrolled students who are registered in a higher education institution to undertake a learning experience in another country. In the framework of the Erasmus + programme you can spend between 3 months (minimum duration) and a full Academic year abroad for study. The mobility is carried out within the framework of prior “inter-institutional agreements” between the sending and the receiving institution, both of which must be holders of the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education. The same student may participate in more than one mobility periods up to a maximum of 12 months for each cycle of study, regardless of the number and type of mobility activities.

How to participate?
If you wish to participate in the Erasmus+ study program you should contact the International Relations Office at your home University, in order to obtain all the information about procedures and requirements. Once you apply for the Erasmus+ Call for Proposals you can usually indicate one or more preferences regarding your University of choice. Language requirements
It is highly recommended that Incoming Students possess at least a basic knowledge of the Italian language before coming to our University, since most of our classes are taught in Italian. However, increasingly Departments are offering modules held in English (click here for the complete list of modules held in English).
Although students are strongly encouraged to take an Italian language course in September or February before the beginning of each semester, a formal language certification is not required. A free Italian Language course will be offered by the Università degli Studi di Perugia, consisting of 60 hours to be completed in 3 weeks (at the beginning of September for 1st-Semester and Full-year students and at the beginning of February for 2nd-Semester students). The course is aimed at helping students reach a lower-intermediate level of Italian and will be held at the University Linguistic Center (CLA).
For this course students will receive a total of 4 ECTS per year regardless of how many additional Italian language courses they attend. Please note that these credits will only be allotted if the student has, during his/her stay, dutifully attended at least 75% of the course hours.
Nomination and Application procedures:
Once selected, your home University must send an email stating formal nomination to our Student Mobility Office. You will then receive all the information required in order to apply and prepare the required documents, that is to say:
- Learning Agreement
Erasmus + students are expected to fill out, sign and upload a Learning Agreement indicating which courses they plan to attend at our University. The Learning Agreement is to be signed by you, your home University and the host institution.

At the Università degli Studi di Perugia, semester start dates are usually different for each Department.
The first semester usually begins in September/October and ends in December/January, exams are held in January/February. The second semester usually begins in February/March and ends in May/June, exams are held in June/July.

Should you want to stay in one of our Halls of Residence you can select this option during your Online Application procedure. - Italian Language Course
Given that we strongly suggest that Incoming Students possess at least a basic knowledge of the Italian language we ask you to let us know whether or not you would like to attend one of our free Italian Language Courses, usually starting at the beginning of each Semester. In order to do so, please select this option during the Online Application procedure.
Please note that all of the aforementioned documents must be uploaded during the Application procedure along with the scanned copy of a currently valid ID document.
Please note: All Erasmus Incoming students who will be attending the Department of Medicine courses (in all Degree programs) during the A.Y. 2017/2018 must also submit a negative Tuberculin skin test certificate, issued within the last six months from an authorized structure. If they do not do so, they will not be able to attend the Department of Medicine courses.
