"Public Finance" deals with the economic analysis of government activity. main topics are: the analysis of market failures as justification for government intervention;the choice of appropriate tools for mending market failures (taxes, subisdies and so on); the analysis of the consequences of government action (both on efficiency and distributional grounds).
