- The course programme is organised in four parts: epistemological assumptions and theoretical challenges of social work; theoretical-operational models of social work; analysis of the demand for help, interviewing and taking charge in the help process; the Code of Ethics for Social Workers.

- To provide students with knowledge of the historical evolution of the profession of the social worker and the social service discipline tradition, with reference to the relevant historical and cultural contexts.
Fundamental is the knowledge of the methodological procedure of social service in its phases, in relation to the theoretical-operational model chosen as reference.
An understanding of the epistemological foundations, principles and values of the social work profession, as well as the code of ethics. - Prerequisites
- It is preferable for the student to possess humanistic-psychological knowledge.
- Teaching methods
- Lectures.
The course then includes in-depth seminar activities relating to specific aspects of the helping process, with the possibility of involving experts.
Possibility of conducting dialogic and circular exercises and discussions with the lecturer, complementary to the lectures. - Learning verification modality
- Oral examination with an interview lasting a maximum of thirty minutes.
The lecturer provides for the possibility of a written test at the end of the course.
The written test consists of multiple-choice and open questions on the programme content. - Extended program
