| Contents | The program is dedicated to analyzing health and family issues from a sociological perspective. In particular, the following aspects will be addressed: the historical and sociological evolution of the concept of health and its multidimensionality; social inequalities in health; narratives and the culture of health; the medicalization of life; how to measure health; prevention; theories of health sociology; the "plural" family, in its historical, social, and cultural variations; gender structure of the family; aging and caregiving duties within the family; and challenges facing families in contemporary society. |

| Educational objectives | By the end of the course, students should have adequately understood the social dimensions of health and family issues and the main evolutionary dynamics of these phenomena.
