Non-EU citizens residing abroad
Non-EU international students residing abroad who intend to enroll in a Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree, or Single-cycle Master’s Degree program must follow the procedure below:
1. PRE-EVALUATION ON PICA
Before submitting the application on Universitaly, students are required to submit a pre-evaluation application through the PICA portal at https://pica.cineca.it/unipg/2026-visa-01/ by accessing the procedure “PRE-ENROLLMENT PROCEDURE FOR VISA APPLICANT INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS” no later than March 31, 2026, attaching the following documentation:
a) a copy of a valid Passport;
b) documentation of the foreign educational qualification valid for accessing the course, as specified in the section: https://www.unipg.it/en/international-students/becoming-a-unipg-student/list-of-study-documents
c) if available, documentation regarding language requirements, as specified in the section: https://www.unipg.it/en/international-students/becoming-a-unipg-student/language-requirements
d) curriculum vitae.
Upon submission of the application, the student will receive a confirmation email.
2. VALIDATION ON PICA
Starting from April 12, 2026, students will be able to view their evaluation outcome in PICA, which may be one of the following:
- ADMITTED UPON CONDITION: the student is required to take the Italian language proficiency test (see point 3) or integrate the missing documentation
- SENT TO COMMITTEE: the student must wait for the Committee to evaluate the academic requirements for admission to the Master's degree program.
- ADMITTED: the student is required to proceed with the enrollment on Universitaly (see point 4).
- REJECTED: the student cannot proceed with the enrollment on Universitaly for the reasons that will be specified in PICA.
3. ITALIAN LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY TEST
Candidates in possession of the Italian language proficiency certification mentioned in point c) above are not required to take the Italian language test and may proceed with the enrollment on Universitaly (see point 4).
Candidates NOT in possession of the Italian language proficiency certification mentioned in point c) above must take the Italian language proficiency test.
The Italian language proficiency test for the purpose of obtaining the certification will be provided by UniPG in a remote (online) format.
The test will take place on April 15, 2026, and April 29, 2026.
Registration for the test is open from April 2 to April 10, 2026; further information on the registration process will be available soon. The procedure will require the candidate to indicate their preferred date for the test (either April 15 or April 29, 2026); in the event of failing to appear on the chosen date and time, it will not be possible to take the test on another date.
Once the test registration procedure is completed, the candidate will receive a confirmation email containing useful instructions for the correct execution of the test.
4. ENROLLMENT ON UNIVERSITALY
Once the positive evaluation outcome has been obtained in PICA, students may proceed with the online pre-enrollment on the UNIVERSITALY portal (https://www.universitaly.it). This step is mandatory to initiate the study visa application at the Italian Diplomatic Representation in the country of residence.
5. VALIDATION ON UNIVERSITALY
Only students who have received a positive evaluation outcome in PICA will be validated on Universitaly; applications submitted on Universitaly by students who have not been previously evaluated in PICA will not be taken into consideration.
6. VISA APPLICATION AND ENROLLMENT
Students validated on Universitaly must contact the Italian Diplomatic Representation in their country of residence to obtain their visa. Once they have arrived in Italy, students may start the enrollment procedures.
Italian citizens, EU citizens, and non-EU citizens legally residing in Italy who hold a qualification obtained abroad
International students holding a qualification obtained abroad, who do not require a study visa are required to have their foreign qualification evaluated according to the following procedure:
1. EVALUATION OF THE FOREIGN QUALIFICATION
The candidate is required to submit the application for the evaluation of theit foreign qualification through the PICA portal at https://pica.cineca.it/unipg/ by accessing the procedure “EVALUATION OF FOREIGN QUALIFICATIONS” starting from June 1, 2026, attaching the following documentation:
- copy of a valid identity document;
- documentation of the foreign educational qualification valid for accessing the course, as specified in the section: https://www.unipg.it/en/international-students/becoming-a-unipg-student/list-of-study-documents.
Applications submitted via email or in any other form will not be taken into consideration for evaluation.
2. VALIDATION ON PICA
After the procedure is closed, students who have received a positive evaluation will be validated on PICA by the University and will receive an admission email.
3. ENROLLMENT
Students validated on PICA may proceed with the enrollment procedures.
