- General Pathology course is dedicated to the study of structural, biochemical and functional changes that determine the disease and occur at the molecular, cellular, tissues and organs. In particular, teaching is aimed at understanding:
a) exogenous and endogenous causes (etiology) that induce the alteration of the structure and function of the different organs;
b) molecular and cellular mechanisms (pathogenesis) through which the etiological agents induce the damage;
c) processes with which the organism responds to the insults that strike it in order to re-establish the previous condition of integrity (or a new condition of equilibrium). - Prerequisites
- In order to understand the course the student should have basic notions of cellular and molecular biology, anatomy, physiology, biochemistry.
- Teaching methods
- Frontal lesson
- Learning verification modality
- Oral examination: Basic knowledge of the main pathogenetic mechanisms linked to the development of tumoral, inflammatory, musculoskeletal and pulmonary diseases. The oral examination will also allow to evaluate the student's ability to exhibit and language.
