Educational objectives Within the degree program, this internship have to provide to show the professional aspects of management and genetic improving of the cattle, pig, horse, sheep, dog and cat..








D1 - KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
The student must
- know animal feeding and management.
- have knowledge of the evaluation of the specie/breeds,
- know the breeding methods of the main animals of zootechnical interest, the different types
of farming.
D2 - APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
At the end of the training the student will be able to:
- evaluate animal feeding
- recognize the main breeds of cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, horse, dog and cat,
- recognize structures of farms.
D3 - MAKING JUDGMENT
At the end of the training the student will be able to:
-assesse specific problems of management, nutrition and selection.

D4 - COMMUNICATION
At the end of the training the student will be able to:
- organize, prepare and exhibit, to an audience made up of people of equal level of preparation, a presentation on a zootechnical aspect with their own evaluations supported by appropriate arguments,
- support an adversarial process with people of equal preparation and experts in different issues, of a regulatory, scientific, procedural and / or
technological nature,
- demonstrate language properties in both written and oral form, as well as the ability to use terminology that is sufficiently appropriate for a
correct approach to the profession, which is also important for job interviews.
D5 - LIFELONG LEARNING SKILLS
At the end of the training the student will be able to:
- consult and understand scientific texts, even innovative ones, bibliographic updates, normative dictations, so as to employ them in
contexts not only usual for the profession, including research, but also originals,
- manage a sufficiently broad mastery of the subject to guarantee an acceptable basis for continuing professional updating through ongoing
lifelong learning.

PROGRAM
The internship is designed to prepare the student to the professional practice and therefore in this period are investigated topics related to the techniques of breeding species (cattle, sheep, pig, horse, dog and cat). During this period the practical lessons are carried out the problems of management as well as those related to genetic improvement to each species. It also carried out inspections on farms under the supervision of the teacher

Educational objectives The training aims to prepare the student to the professional activity practice and in particular aspects of the breeding of domestic species techniques.
D1 - KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
The student must:
- Acquire further knowledge the veterinarian role in the livestock species breeding production, with particular reference to legislative standards.
- Know the breeding system of the main zootechnical species, genetic breeding and nutrition.
- Know the managerial approach of livestock farms;
D2 - ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
At the end of the training, the student must:
- Knowing how to evaluate livestock and applied the most appropriate managerial and sanitary solutions to each species
- to be able to apply knowledge to their own behavior on the farm, understanding the importance that each procedure has, in ensuring the health of animals and in protecting their welfare, in guaranteeing hygiene, quality, health and cost-effectiveness of production, in protecting the man and the environment.
D3 - AUTONOMY OF JUDGMENT
At the end of the training, the student must be able to:
- independently judge whether company procedures are adequate or require changes to comply with legislative regulations or to adapt to scientific and technological innovation.
- Highlight and reveal the criticalities of company practice relating to selection, nutrition, breeding and animal welfare by applying theoretical knowledge for the improvement or correction of the same.

D4 - COMMUNICATION SKILLS
At the end of the training, the student must be able to:
- Knowing how to communicate what has been learned during the course by integrating it with previous theoretical knowledge to an audience of colleagues and or / breeders
- Communicate efficiently and effectively with other company operators (owners, labor, veterinarians, technicians, suppliers) using an appropriate and correct vocabulary from the technical-scientific point of view, as well as cooperating with all other operators to achieve the objectives business.

At the end of the training, the student must be able to:
- be able to consult and understand scientific texts, sector sites, bibliographic updates, regulatory dictates, as well as evaluate procedures and technologies critically for its use in professional practice.

- to independently learn the innovations of scientific and technological research and their applicability to the reality of a livestock company, as well as to modify procedures and behaviors to comply with the evolution of regulations.

- have a sufficiently broad mastery of the subject to ensure an acceptable basis for continuing professional development throughout the life span, through continuous continuous training.

At the end of the training, the student must be able to:
- Knowing how to communicate what has been learned during the course by integrating it with previous theoretical knowledge to an audience of colleagues and or / breeders
- Knowing how to weave relationships of mutual exchange with the entire company chain in order to bridge the inevitable gap that exists between the theoretical and practical approach of the company.

reportable diseases)
Teaching methods The training is organized as follows: - in-depth analysis of aspects that will focus on specific species issues and problems; - practical breeding actions related to the main aspects of the different species bred.
Learning verification modality Written examination by open questions. The result is not graded: just "pass" or "fail".
