Educational objectives
The goal of the ADE is to provide students with the cognitive tools necessary for the study of the medicine of exotic and wild animals both as regards the etiopathogenetic aspects, the diagnostic profile and the therapeutic approach.
D1 The student will be provided, with the help of veterinarians expert in the sector, information regarding the physio-behavioral and management characteristics of unconventional animals and presented clinical cases of more frequent finding. Mammals, volatile reptiles will be considered. D2 a part of the course will be carried out in self directed learning so that the student can deepen topics of his / her choice. This is in order to evaluate D3 judgment autonomy, D4 communication skills and D5 learning skills.
Prerequisites
To take advantage of this ADE, knowledge of general pathology, parasitology and infectious diseases is required.
Teaching methods
This Self Directed Learning class will begin with an introductory lecture given by the teacher on the main topics that will be discussed during the course. Creation of groups of the same number of students to which will be assigned a specific topic. This topic will be studied individually by the group in order to create a power point presenation. After a brief dissertation in the class, each group will discuss its own topic with the student audience.

Learning verification modality
There is no final exam for ADE. The acquisition of knowledge and skills will be evaluated through critical review of the work done by the students, taking into consideration the ability of synthesis, expression property, as well as the scientific relevance.
