- The course aims to deepen the knowledge of the relevant moments of Russian cultural history through the study of the history of verse and poetic language. We will focus on the analysis of some poems of the major artistic personalities of the various periods, starting from the period of formation of the modern literary system in the eighteenth century. up to the present day. With particular attention to the poems of Derzhavin, Pushkin, Lermontov, Tjutchev, Nekrasov, Blok, Majakovskij, The avant-garde of the 60s-70s of the twentieth century.

- The course aims to enrich what the students have already learned during the three-year degree program. The student will acquire a deeper understanding of the linguistic and cultural processes that characterized Russia until the present period.
- Prerequisites
- The student must be in possession of a Bachelor's degree in Languages and Literature (Russian) or equivalent title.
- Teaching methods
- Theoretical and historical-literary lectures with special attention to the analysis of poetic texts.

- To be admitted to the examination, students who did not attend classes must arrange in advance an alternative program with the professor .¿
- Learning verification modality
- The oral exam includes some questions relating to the history of Russian metrics, the evolution of the poetic language and the artistic profile of some classic and contemporary poets addressed during the lessons. The exam also includes reading in the original language, interpretation and oral translation of some poems studied during the course. Attending students are expected to write a paper on the topics agreed during the course with the analysis of three poems from the various periods which will be the topic of discussion for the final oral exam.
