Educational objectives | 1) The Students must prove their comprehension and capacity of understanding the classical philosophical texts, along with a apprehension of the philosophical issues and problems of the history of philosophy. 2. The students must be able to apply the study argument to support and develop a critical awareness, useful to solve the problems in the field of the human sciences and studies education. |
Prerequisites | Main philosophical knowledge on the history of ancient, medieval and humanistic philosophy, with particular attention. |

Extended program | The themes and authors of modern philosophy from 400 until the Idealism (early decades of the nineteenth century) will be addressed. In particular, they will be presented: Humanism and Reinassance, Platonism, Marsilio Ficino, Pico della Mirandola, Nicolò Cusano, Aristotelianism, Epicureism, Reformation and Counter-Reformation, the scientific revolution, Galilei, Giordano Bruno, Telesio, Campanella, Bacon, Cartesio, Pascal, libertinism, Malebranche, Gassendi, Leibniz, Spinoza, Hobbes, Locke, Hume, Hobbes, Vico, Illuminism (French, German, Italian and English), Rousseau, Kant, Fichte, Schelling, Hegel. |
