Contents Using technological media and practical exercitations, aim of this course is the explanation of history of scenography in theatre, cinema and other items.
Reference texts Fabrizio Cruciani, Lo spazio del teatro (Bari, Laterza); Franco Perrelli, Storia della scenografia. Dall'antichità al XXI secolo (Roma, Carocci); Bruno Mello, Trattato di scenotecnica (Novara, De Agostini).
Educational objectives The aim is to give a clear explanation of evolution of scenography and technical belongings from ancient times till nowadays, with specific reference to Exhibit Design.
Prerequisites No preventive knowledge required.
Teaching methods Lessons, screenings and guided tours.
Other information International and Erasmus students are invited to take the course. Readings and other course materials are also allowed in English or French or German or Spanish; oral exams may be taken in English or German or French or Spanish. Please contact the instructor for further details and to schedule an appointment during the first week of first Semester.
Learning verification modality Oral exam.
Extended program From greek theatre, toward Renaissance, till nowadays, theatrical space had a progressive development. Knowledge of past can give interesting suggestions for real (theatre, fashion, exhibitions) or virtual (cinema, television and other media) locations.
