- The purpose of this course is to develop the basic theoretic and methodological issues on environmental evaluation, and the most common technical tools for analysis and evaluation of the environment.

1. In-depth knowledge of the characteristics and objectives of environmental evaluation
2. In-depth knowledge of major environmental issues and related evaluation aspects
3. Basic knowledge of the theory of economic value of environmental goods and services
4. Knowledge of methods of environmental evaluation
5. Basic knowledge of regulations governing the processes of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA)
6. In-depth knowledge of the technical phases of the processes of EIA and SEA

8. In-depth knowledge of issues related to the evaluation of environmental damage assessment

- In order to be able to know how to tackle the course, students must have basic knowledge of Ecology.
- Teaching methods
- The course is organized in:
- Lectures on theory, methodology and application;
- Exercises in the classroom and / or computer room, dividing the students into working groups, which should solve concrete problems of environmental assessment, including through the use of computer systems and illustare eventually their technical report;
- Seminars by expert persons on specific issues, requiring particular focus

- The exam consists of a middle term test and an oral test. The first one consists of a written test on a specific topic assigned to each student in order to verify the ability to analyze and discuss a specific problem. The oral test consists of a 20-30 minutes discussion aimed to assess the level of knowledge and understanding acquired by the student and checking the ability to communicate and the language property.
