- Contents
- The course is divided in two parts, a theoretical part and an empirical part. The aim is to study the political parties, the comparative political system and the democratic governments, and then deepen a case study.

FOR NON-ATTENDING STUDENTS (6 and 9 CFU): all non-attending students must add at the attending students program this text: G. Pasquino, Sistemi politici comparati. Francia, Germania, Gran Bretagna, Italia, Stati Uniti, Bonomia University Press, Bologna, 2011.
“Attending” students are those who attend the class and the laboratory work. The students who do not attend classes and/or do not carry out the laboratory works will be considered “non-attendants”. - Educational objectives
- At the end of the course students will have to know the basics of literature on political parties and comparative political systems, and be able to interpret the relationships between the political sphere, the institutional sphere and models of democracy. In this regard, the continuous tension between theoretical reflection and empirical knowledge allow students to deepen national and international case studies.

- No prerequisites.
- Teaching methods
- The course includes frontal lectures by the teacher. The last part of the course is devoted to the works carried out by students who attend the seminar research.

- Other information will be provided by the teacher on the Unistudium platform of the Department.
- Learning verification modality
- The preparation of the students will be evaluated through a written test on the books of the program. Only attending students can check it.
For attending students who choose the simulation of a case study, after the written text on the program books, they will receive a further evaluation based on their simulation on the laboratory’s work.
Non-attending students, will have an oral exam dealing with the whole program.
