- The course aims to provide students with the interpretative and methodological tools necessary for the analysis of the most recent transformations of urban systems in their socio-economic, political and symbolic-cultural dimensions

The oral exam is a discussion lasting about 20 minutes which is intended to assess the level of knowledge and understanding achieved by students on the contents specified in the program. This evaluation will take into reference the correctness of the information, its completeness,the knowledge, the correct syntax, as well as the autonomous organization of the examination

- The course proposes a sociological analysis of cities, defining the object and its boundaries and the different traditions of urban sociology. The course presents the evolution and modernityof the urban phenomenon. The peculiar aspects of the course concern: the relationship between economy and city, city policies, the city as a cultural phenomenon, the city and settlement processes.
The course also illustrates the thinking of some classic authors of urban sociology.
Finally, the many facets that characterize the current city will be presented: the sustainable, smart, welcoming city, etc. including some examples of participatory practices for the development of urban policies - Obiettivi Agenda 2030 per lo sviluppo sostenibile
