Contents
The teaching is divided into two parts of 18 hours each: the first part will have a laboratory character and will aim at the delineation of a framework of the main teaching methods applicable to Latin through the study of the manuals in question which will be entrusted to groups of students / speakers. The second part will be based on the analysis of the production of Martial, an author usually mentioned in school programs, to show the varied possibilities of educational use. Starting from the Martial texts, various types of teaching units for learning the Latin language and literature will be presented.

Martial's poems will be provided in unistudium.
Educational objectives
Know various methods of didactic use of Martial; know some of the main theoretical models for teaching Latin; knowing how to set up a lesson of Latin language and literature; being able to organize a learning unit for Latin language and literature; know how to put together a program of Latin language and literature.
Prerequisites
In order to understand and be able to re-use the knowledge and concepts envisaged by the teaching, it is necessary to have a good knowledge of Latin literature from its origins to the Late Antiquity and a good linguistic-grammatical preparation. The analysis of the texts, which will be examined during the course, also requires proven translation skills from Latin into Italian.
Teaching methods
The teaching method includes lectures supported, if necessary, by multimedia tools and laboratory activities in groups identified through jigsaw methods.

The teaching methods will be conditioned by the provisions consequent to the pandemic issued from time to time.
Other information
Students can acquire a further 3 credits (to be recognized among the 6 of additional knowledge) by preparing a written report on a topic relating to the course agreed with the teacher. Credits will be recognized after a positive evaluation of the report by the teacher.

The report must be a maximum of 10 pp. about 2000 characters; it must critically use the bibliography and the text must be accompanied by notes.
Learning verification modality
Oral exam, with the aim of verifying the acquisition of knowledge relating to the course and the ability to plan and structure a lesson or a didactic learning unit.
