- Profile of the programme
- The Molecular and Industrial Master degree Course is aimed at providing graduates an adequate mastery of the scientific method application to biological systems. The course is focused on disciplinary areas of the molecular and industrial Biotechnology field: genomics, proteomics, recombinant and translational biotechnology applied to the development and production of sustainable industrial processes, bioremediation and environmental monitoring; nanobiotechnology and biomaterials; energy technologies. Learning and teaching activities and profit assessment are stated in the academic regulation of the course of study.
- Programme learning outcomes
- Graduates of the Programme will be able to demonstrate: -knowledge of analysis methodologies of: genomics and proteomics, genetic engineering, translational biotechnology for the production of sustainable industrial processes, environmental bioremediation, nanobiotechnology and biomaterials; energy technologies, bioinformatics for the purposes of databases organization, set up and access. -specialist knowledge in different areas related to Molecular and Industrial Biotechnology basic to provide professionalizing skills.
- Qualification requirements and regulations
- Admission to the final test for the achievement of the qualification will require that the student has acquired all the credits foreseen in the study plan . The final test for the achievement of the qualification is public and consists of the presentation of a thesis work to a special commission. Students take advantage of the Socrates-Erasmus Programme through agreements managed by the University of Perugia in accordance with the teachers of the Course.
- Work-based learning
- The Course provides internships in companies, pulbic administration structures and laboratories , and stays in Italian and European Universities, through international agreements. Internships in companies are regulated by agreements stipulated with the Department of Chemistry, Biology and Biotechnology. Internship consists of 6 ECTS and can be extended by using 6 ECTS chosen by students in place of an exam.
- Occupational profiles of graduates
- The main occupational profiles of graduates are: employee in the. 1) industrial field, agri-food field, environmental field, healthcare field, pharmaceutical field, research, scientific information and communication. 2) admission to the State exam for the enrollment in the order of biologists. 3) admission to Ph.D, graduate Schools and second level Masters.
