Educational objectives The course aims to provide the knowledge of Labour Criminal Law, constantly referring to the general principles of criminal law, and emphasizing the most problematic and post-modern topics of this branch of criminal justice system. The objective is to promote the access to postgraduate courses, doctoral Schools, and other professional activities (forensic careers, business consulting). The students will develop a multidisciplinary and praxeological understanding of this field.
Prerequisites None
Teaching methods The main didactic method will be the “head-on classes"; seminars could be added. Lectures and seminars will be managed by referring to statute- a and case-law.

a) Criminal aspects of workplace and criminal aspects of workplace safety
b) The sources of labour criminal law:
- Constitutional principles
- EU Law
- domestic Law
c) The four levels of punitive protection:
- administrative sanctions
- misdemeanors
- felonies creating the risk of harm
- felonies causing harm
d) Risk management, maximum security and the role of the Art. 2087 C.C.
e) Criminal responsibility in iure and de facto:
- duties of safety and protection
- criminal causality
- mens rea
f) Workplace safety and organizational measures:
- the delegation of tasks
- corporate responsibility and compliance programs
- the relationship between individual negligence and corporate negligence
g) The precautionary principle in criminal matters
