Educational objectives
The main aim of the course is to bring the students to the acquisition of the general course contents and of the methodological and critical instruments useful for the analysis of the proposed texts. At the end of the course the student will be able to master the contents of the literary period in exam and to face the analysis of the literary text in its thematic and formal aspects through the use of adequate methodologies and critical approaches.
Prerequisites
In order to be able to understand and apply methods and notions discussed within the course, students are required to know the fundamentals of literary criticism and critical tools.
Teaching methods
Seminary style taught classes. An adequate space will be dedicated to the analysis of the mentioned texts, in order to familiarize the students with the methodological and critical instruments used for the analysis of literary texts.

Learning verification modality
Oral final exam. The speaking test will consist of a conversation which will last about half an hour and which will also concern the texts, read and commented in the classroom; it will be aimed at checking both the comprehension and the ability to apply the knowledge acquired during the course. The first question will be in Spanish language, then the student will decide whether to continue in Spanish or in Italian.
As for the third part of the syllabus, the student must write a 5-to-10 page essay (Times New Roman body 12, line spacing 1,5) and deliver it in print at least ten days before the exam date.
Students with disabilities and/or with SLD: for the modality of carrying out the exams, students can take advantage of inclusive technologies, compensatory tools and dispensatory measures provided by the law. Extended program
The course is divided into three parts: Medieval castilian literature, the literature of the first and the second period of the Golden Age.
