- Educational objectives
- knowledge of the methodological and operational aspects of the arguments and ability to use this knowledge in order to describe and solve problems
- Prerequisites
- In order to understand and know how to apply the topic of this course it is important to have followed and possibly passed the exam of the course Mathematics I.
- Teaching methods
- Face-to-face and practical training
- Other information
- Optional but recommended attendance
During the written test only the textbooks adopted can be consulted and the use of any other paper or digital material is forbidden. It is also banned the use of mobile phones. - Learning verification modality
- The method of verification of the learning results of the analysis module is divided in two phases:
a written exam of 3 hours, and an oral examination of more or less 40 minutes. The written test includes the solution of three exercises on topics covered in the program and is designed to verify the ability to correctly apply the theoretical knowledge, the understanding of the exercices proposed and the ability to communicate in writing. The oral test is designed to assess the level of knowledge and the understanding reached by the student on the contents listed in the program, this test also used for verifying the presentation skills of the student. It must be performed in the same session of the written exam.
The tests together allow to ensure the ability to:
- Knowledge and understanding,
- Apply the skills acquired,
- Exposition,
- Develop solutions. - Extended program
- Series and series of functions, functions of several variables and study of their graph. Introduction to ordinary differential equations: Cauchy problem, methods of solving some types of first order differential equations and linear differential equations of order 2 with constant coefficients. Multiple integration with area and volume calculation. Regular curves, line integrals, green formulas in the plane, calculation of lengths, barycenters and moments of inertia.
Linear differential forms and their applications to conservative fields; calculation of a potential, flow and divergence of a vector field in the plane.
