- Contents
- In the course, an introduction to chemical and physical behaviors of the
environmental compartments will be presented. Study of water,
atmosphere and soil's chemistry and main pollutants will be performed,
together with notes on some biofuels and their environmental
implications - Reference texts
- "Chimica dell'ambiente" di Stanley E. Manahan, Edizione italiana a cura di
Lelio Zoccolillo, Editore: Piccin Nuova Libraria S.p:A., Padova "Ecologia
Applicata" di Renato Vismara, Biblioteca Scientifica Hoepli, Editore: Ulrico

- Students attending the course know: the chemical-physical average
composition of the three environmental spheres, the nature and
properties of main potential pollutants and the principles on which are
based the interventions focused to monitoring, prevention and
remediation of environmental pollution phenomena, both chronic and
acute. Based on this knowledge they will be able to: identify what may be
the main sources of pollution and the major consequences on the
ecosystem equilibrium; program the actions to be done in order to
prevent and/or remedy any environmental damage. - Prerequisites
- The topics covered in the course are, by their very nature, multidisciplinary.
The student has to have a good knowledge of the three basic
chemical disciplines (organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry and physical
chemistry) to attend the Course profitable - Teaching methods
- The course is organized with lectures on all subjects of the program.
During the Laboratory CFU, 2-4 hours didactic visits in laboratories and plants and / or exercises in the processing of analytical data from environmental monitoring
involved in environmental problematic will be planne - Other information
- N.N.
- Learning verification modality
- The exam consists of an oral test of sufficient duration to ascertain the
level of knowledge and understanding acquired by the student on the
contents of the program - Extended program
- Physical and chemical characteristics of environmental sections
