Current guidelines of the European Society of Cardiology on:
- Infective endocarditis prophylaxis,
- the use of double platelet antiaggregation and anticoagulant therapy in cardiology.

It will process the risk stratification for odontostomatology interventions, the interference of cardiological pharmacological therapy on clinical-surgical odontostomatological management.
Prerequisites Students must have the basic knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the heart and great vessels.
Teaching methods The course is organized with: frontal lesson on all the topics of the course, through the projection of slides and films.
Other information The teacher will be available to all students who deem it necessary to investigate, discuss and resolve any questions / problems regarding cardiovascular disease program.

The test will be to evaluate the exhibition, analysis, acquired knowledge and critical evaluation skills of individual students.
The final exam includes an oral exam consisting of a discussion lasting about 10 minutes for each question (2-3 questions) with the purpose of ascertaining the level of knowledge and understanding achieved by the student on the theoretical and methodological contents indicated in the program. The oral test will also allow to verify the ability to communicate, the property of language and autonomous organization of the exposition on the topics with a theoretical content.
Extended program The course will consider the main cardiopathies from the pathophysiology to the clinical examination and the instrumental diagnosis. The main bases of clinical-therapeutic management will also be provided.
