| Prerequisites | Knowledge of some topics of general surgery and gstroenterology is required: - Complications of peptic ulcer - Acute diverticulitis and its complications. - Acute cholecystitis and its complications. - Acute appendicitis and its complications. - Meckel's diverticulum - Acute pancreatitis and its complications. - Acute intestinal ischemias - Hernias of the abdominal wall - Portal hypertension |

| Other information | Core Curriculum Elementary Teaching Unit valid from 2016-2017: UDE 790: Indicate the diagnostic approach to the acute abdomen. UDE 1186: Detect signs of peritoneal inflammation. UDE 1268: Hypothesize the diagnosis of acute intestinal obstruction (from mechanical or dynamic ileum) indicating the possible causes.
