Educational objectives Results based on testing of acquired skills, behavior, grade student interaction.The learning outcomes are compliant with the provisions in the didactic regulations of the degree course as published on the web site:http://www.med.unipg.it/cclIt is expected that the student acquires:- Knowledge of etiology, pathophysiology, clinical manifestations, diagnostic and laboratory tests, pathophysiological basis of therapy, principles of surgical approach to ischemic heart disease, arterial systemic hypertension, arrhythmias, cardiovascular imaging techniques, valvular heart diseases, congenital heart defects.- skills allowing a proper approach to patients with ischemic heart disease, arterial systemic hypertension, valvular heart diseases, congenital heart defects, and arrhythmias, and adequate understanding of the diagnostic role of imaging studies in this context
Teaching methods Formal lessons and theorical-practical activities, that will be coordinated with activities of the other teachers of the course modules. In this regard, among others, the following activites may be planned: seminars, practical interactive training sessions focused on ECG reading and arrhythmias.

Extended program Atrial and ventricular tachyarrhythmias: extrasystoles, tachycardia, fibrillation and flutter.
Bradyarrhythmias: sinus atrial block, bundle branch blocks, atrioventricular blocks, Morgagni - Adam – Stokes syndrome.
Ventricular pre-excitation syndromes.
Cardiac arrest: causes, diagnostic principles and pathophysiological basis of treatment.
Principles of interventional treatment of arrhythmias: ablation, pacemaker implantation, implantable defibrillator.
Primary and secondary hypertension; hypertensive heart disease.
Coronary atherosclerosis: epidemiology and risk factors, pathophysiology, coronary remodeling.
Stable angina pectoris.
Acute coronary syndromes: unstable angina, acute myocardial infarction.
Interventional and surgical treatment of ischemic heart disease: coronary angioplasty and stenting, coronary artery bypass grafting.

Teaching methods The course is structured in frontal lectures, that will be organized in a coordinated way among teachers responsible for the various teaching modules.In addition, the following activites may be planned:- seminars- practical interactive training sessions, with special focus on clinical evaluation of patients with cardiovascular diseases, also with the use of simulation techniques.
