Educational objectives The main goal of teaching is to provide students with the basics and the fundamentals of Plastic Surgery.

The main knowledge gained will be:

• basic techniques in plastic surgery

• burns

• surgical treatment of skin cancer

• breast reconstruction

• congenital malformations

• knowledge of cosmetic surgery



The main skills (ability to apply knowledge acquired) will be:

• management of patients suffering from various diseases (burns, malformations, etc.) and appropriate therapeutic indication.
Prerequisites Having passed the following exams:

Teaching methods The course is organized as follows:

- lessons in class on all topics of the course;

- pratical (professionalizing training) to the practical application of the course topics. Students will be divided into groups (4 students in each group) and follow the activities in the department, the outpatient and in the operating theater

Learning verification modality The exam includes an oral exam consisting of a finalized discussion, in some modules, it may include a written exam. These exams are designed to ascertain the level of knowledge and understanding achieved by students on the theoretical and methodological implications mentioned in the program. The oral exam will also test the ability of communication with the student of language and autonomous organization of the exposure on the same topics in theoretical content.

Melanocytic pathology: nevi and melanoma
Benign tumors, precancerous lesions, basal cell and squamous cell carcinoma
Bacterial diseases: impetigo, erysipelas, folliculitis
Virus diseases: herpes simplex, herpes zoster, molluscum contagiosum, HPV infections
Fungal skin diseases: dermatophytosis, pityriasis versicolor, candidiasis
Diseases from exogenous ectoparasites: acariasis, pediculosis
Sexually transmitted diseases: syphilis, gonorrhea, urethritis, balanoposthitis, proctitis, skin manifestations in AIDS
Skin diseases that require urgent intervention: urticaria-angioedema syndrome, adverse cutaneous drug reactions, skin lesions due to insect bites, burns
Occupational and non-occupational contact dermatitis
Major environmental skin diseases due to solar radiation and cold
Erythematous desquamative skin diseases: psoriasis, seborrheic dermatitis of the adult, pityriasis rosea
