- Spleen: indication to splanectomy
- Sentinel lymp node and metastatic melanoma.

Educational objectives Know the most important surgical nosologies, make a general abjective examination, specifically oriented towards pathologies of surgical interest, to distinguish the sign and the symptoms of the varions discases to understand the degree of severity of the varions pathologies.
Prerequisites To the able to understand and face the course, the student must have successfully completed the preparatory exam described in the degree program regulation, in fact, the general knowledge of anatomy , physiology, biochemistry, pharmacology, pathological anatomy and radiodiagnostics are an indispensable prerequisite for the student who wants to follow the course successfully
Teaching methods Lecture and pratical activities.
Meeting.
Learning verification modality The exam includes an oral exam consisting of a discussion lasting about 30 minutes aimed at ascertainig the levels of knowledge, the ability to understand and synthesis achieved by the student as well as verifyng the acquisition of methodologies of launguage and exposure.
Extended program - Pathology of the abdominal wall:
hernias and laparoceles
- Pathology of the mesentery, of the peritoneum and of the retroperitoneum:
peritonitis . classification of clinical and instrumental diagnostic etiopathogenesis- Terapy
- Peritoneal and retroperitoneal neoplasm:
Clinical surgical staging, concepts of radical and palliativa surgery. New Technologies in cancer surgery : locoregional chemioterapy, IORT.
- Spleen.
Indication for splenectomy
- Sentinal lymph node and metastatic melanoma.

Extended program - Ggastric neoplasms:
particular regard to the site and the type of metastatic diffusion. Treatment with curative intent with particular regard to lymphadenectomy. Post-operative treatment and results.
-Small intestine: Trauma . Occlusion. Diverticula: Crhn's disease. Neoplasms.
- Neoplasms of the pancreas:
exocrine pancreas. Acute and chronic pancreatitis. Pancreatic neoplasia and periampollar clinical features.
Endocrine pancreatic tumors: localization problems.
Principles of pancreatic surgery.
- Spleen : indication for splenectomy.
- Surgical indications surgical treatment of liver diseases: surgical anatomy, cysts and abscesses, beningneoplasms; hepatocellular carcinoma: clinical features, terapy.
Transplantation: selection of patients, types of surgical procedures. Metastatic liver cancer: purpose of surgycal treatment.
Portal hypertension: surgical indications, type of treatment: shunts and transplantation.
