Contents Knowledge of the basic anatomy and physiology of the female and male genital tract, with a focus on infertility, contraception, alterations of the menstrual cycle and menopause. Knowledge of fertilization, embryo and implantation. Knowledge of reproductive gynecology, contraception, infectious disease, gynaecological endocrinology and oncology

Educational objectives After completing the course, the student will acquire the following skills:

• To perform a clinical analysis aimed to identify the main pathologies studied and observed during the course
• To understand the main criteria which characterize the instrumental diagnosis of gynaecological and obstetrical pathologies
Prerequisites In order to be able to understand and to know how to face the course , students must have the general knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
Teaching methods Front lessons on most topics included in the program
Practical activities in the department, outpatient clinics, the operating room and the delivery room following the training program
Other information The teacher is available for inquiries on request by writing to the institutional mail
Learning verification modality The exam includes an oral test with a discussion-interview of about 20 minutes aimed to ascertain the level of knowledge and the capacity of understanding acquired by the student, judging also the properties of language and exposure.
The interview is divided in different thematic areas (Medical Gynecology ,Gynecological Endocrinology, Human Reproduction, Gynecological Oncology ); the duration of the test varies depending of the performance of the test itself.
For selected case a written test could be proposed with administration of queries with multiple or free choice.
If numerous students are registered for the exam it is possible the division of the candidates in multiple sessions.
Extended program GYNECOLOGY – Insights of normal human anatomy of male and female genital system. Female and male genital physiology. Diagnostic examinations in gynecology. Menstrual cycle alterations. Polycystic ovary syndrome. Abnormal uterine bleeding. Infections of female genitalia. Endometriosis. Male and female infertility. Menopause. Contraception. Benign and malignant tumors. OBSTETRICS – Fecondation and implantation. Pregnancy diagnosis. Modifications induced by pregnancy. Abortion. Ectopic pregnancy. Trophoblast tumors.

Educational objectives Knowledge of general notions of physiology of human reproduction, including fertility and sterility.

Knowledge of main prospective metanalysis (PMA) methods.
Prerequisites In order to be able to understand and to know how to face the course , students must have an adequate knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the emale genital tract. The knowledge of general issues of anatomy and physiology represents a mandatory prerequisite for students planning to follow this course with profit.
