Educational objectives
The course consideres aspects of pathogenetic properties of the main surgical interest pathologies. The main objective of the module is to enable students to acquire the basics of pathogenic diseases of organs and systems in order to approach the study of surgical disciplines together with the necessary knowledge and skills. The main knowledge gained will be: Knowledge of soft tissue injuries and their repair processes;- Knowledge of the lesions of hard tissue injuries and their healing processes; - Knowledge of dystrophies and skeletal dysplasias. The main skills are: - Identify the stages of development of diseases of surgical interest- Asses the development of lesions diseases of surgical interest.
Teaching methods
The lectures, 27 hours, are held in a classroom of the educational center
of the faculty with the help of visual aids in order to complete the
theoretical concepts pictures from the different pathologies treated;
practices, 12 hours, are held in local veterinary teaching hospital
(operating rooms, outpatient clinics, Radiologic room, CT and ultrasound)
to allow each student a direct approach to the cases of surgical
relevance.
