Educational objectives
The course will offer the knowledge of a collection of innovative teaching proposals, belonging to a common "laboratorial" methodology.
The student will get the skill to apply this methodology, using concrete and/or visual tools in planning teaching activities for mathematics.
Teaching methods
The students will explore Mathematical Laboroatory activities, according to the document Matematica2003 of the Unione Matematica Italian; they will visit the collectio of mathematicals exhibits belonging to the "Galleria di Matematica" of the  "Centro di Ateneo peri i Musei Scientifici." During the course, these exhibits, their mathematical meaning and their possible didactical uses will be explained. The students will be guided to realize copies of some materials themselves.
Learning verification modality
The exam will evaluate how the student is able to use the Laboratory method for teaching mathematics.
So the student will choose a subject (with the teacher) and then will develop a didactic proposal over this subject. The exam will consist in explaining and discussing this proposal.
The exam can be discussed also in English, if the student prefers so.
Extended program
Laboratory activities about the vision: The Laboratorio di Bhaskara exhibition. Teaching activities through its exhibits.
Laboratory activites about polyhedra. From the cube to the beehive. The birth of a football.
Laboratory activities for low attainers, and for handicapped students: the Carte di Bhaskara; exhibits for blind students.
