Fluid Mechanics - Reference texts
- D. Halliday, R. Resnick, J. Walker. - Fundamentals of Physics - Wiley ed.
H.D. Young, R.A. Freedman, A.L. Ford. - University Physics with modern Physics, 13th ed. - Ed. Pearson Education - Educational objectives
- Understanding of the physical meaning of basic concepts in Mechanics of the material point and of the rigid body. Ability to derive the theoretical results of these topics. Quantitative discussion and solution of exercises.
- Prerequisites
- Good skills in algebra, geometry, trigonometry are required, as well a basic knowledge of the differential calculus.
- Teaching methods
- The course is structured as follows:
- Lectures on all topics in the current program.
- Solution of exercises for better comprehension and in preparation of the written test. - Other information
- The teacher can be reached at the university email address.
Students with disabilities are welcome to contact privately the teacher with regards to any specific aid during the course or for the examination. - Learning verification modality
- Written test and optional oral test.
Written test is about the solution of 3 exercises and/or questions about the theory.
A minimum of 18 points are required to pass the written test.
Oral test is an optional discussion about the whole program of the course. - Extended program
