Students with disabilities and/or with SLD who, having completed regular accreditation through SOL, have obtained access to University services, can apply for the compensatory tools ensured by law (e.g. textbooks in digital format; teaching materials in accessible formats: presentations, handouts, workbooks, provided if necessary in advance of the lessons), for which consult https://www.unipg.it/disabilita-e-dsa. For the request, students are invited to ask the teacher, who will put them in contact with the Disability and/or DSA Department Coordinator (prof. Alessandra Di Pilla: alessandra.dipilla@unipg.it)
Educational objectives
The main objective of the course is the acquisition of skills in the field of Spanish literature from 18th to 20th centuries and of the methodologies necessary to work on literary Spanish texts. Within the the three-year degree course in Foreign Languages and Cultures, the course constitutes the first phase of an in-depth course aimed at providing a solid knowledge and understanding of the Spanish literature from its origins to the present day.
After completing the course, students will have consolidated their foundational critical skills: in addition to knowledge of the historical period of reference, with particular attention to the relationship between texts and the cultural and linguistic context, students will have acquired the theoretical and methodological skills to analyze and interpret the main literary texts (drama and prose in particular) of the period from the 18th century to the Generation of 27.
Prerequisites
In order to be able to understand and apply methods and notions discussed within the course, students are required to know the fundamentals of literary criticism and critical tools.
This precondition is valid both for attending and not attending students.
Teaching methods
Seminary style taught classes. The lessons will be partly in Italian and partly in Spanish language, with the use of powerpoint slides. An adequate space will be dedicated to the analysis of the selected, in order to familiarize the students with the methodological and critical instruments used for the analysis of literary texts. Further learning materials for in-depth study will be supplied through the UniStudium platform, where the students will also be able to find all the information concerning the course. The courses will be, whether possible, integrated with extracurricular activities like seminars, transversal and multidisciplinary, given by the professor in charge of the course or by guest professors.
Other information
Students with disabilities and/or SLD: for any information on University services, consult the page https://lettere.unipg.it/home/disabilita-e-dsa and contact the Disability and/or DSA Department Coordinator (prof. Alessandra Di Pilla: alessandra.dipilla@unipg.it).
Learning verification modality
Oral final exam. The speaking test will consist of a conversation which will last about half an hour and which will also concern the texts, read and commented in the classroom; it will be aimed at checking both the comprehension and the ability to apply the knowledge acquired during the course. The conversation will be in Italian, apart from one chosen topic which will be in Spanish language. Both the students “in corso” (students who have passed all their due exams within the prescribed period of time) and the “fuori corso” (students who have not passed all their due exams within the prescribed period of time) will be able to access the test only from the first available session immediately after the end of the course. All students will have to book the exam through the University's Segreteria SOL within the due dates. Students who have not booked their tests will not be admitted to the exam, nor we will accept any bookings via email or after the due dates. In case of “fuori corso” students, there will be two extra exam sessions apart from the ones allowed for the students “in corso” (in the months of December and April).
Students with disabilities and/or with SLD who, having completed regular accreditation through SOL, have obtained access to University services, can apply for compensatory tools, dispensatory measures and inclusive technologies ensured by law, to be requested and agreed with the teacher well in advance of tests and exams. For general information, consult the page https://www.unipg.it/disabilita-e-dsa and contact the Disability and/or SLD Department Coordinator (prof. Alessandra Di Pilla: alessandra.dipilla@unipg.it).
