Glossary and main semeiotic maneuvers of the most relevant pediatric pathologies; the main diseases of the peritoneal-vaginal duct (inguinal hernia, hydrocele, cyst of the funiculus, cryptorchidism), of the digestive system (omphalocele, gastroschisis, intestinal occlusions, atresia of the esophagus, hypertrophic stenosis of the pylorus, intestinal malrotation, duplication bowel, intussusception, Meckel's diverticulum, NEC, anorectal malformation, acute abdomen), urinary tract (pyeloureteral joint stricture, megaureter, vesicoureteral reflux, ureterocele, posterior urethral valves), male genital tract and female (synechiae of the labia minora, phimosis, hypospadias, epispadias, varicocele, acute scrotum).

Educational objectives
The aim of the course is the knowledge of the main congenital malformations, the prenatal diagnosis associated with multidisciplinary counseling and the subsequent therapeutic procedure. The knowledge and deepening of the main pediatric surgical emergencies and the most frequent pediatric, gastrointestinal and urological pathologies and their respective treatment
Prerequisites
Knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the urinary and male genital system are relevant as well as general surgery in order to understand the topics of the lessons. Fundamentals of pharmacology and oncology seem very useful to achieve the objectives of the interdisciplinary course.

Attendance: Mandatory. At least 60% of lessons
Learning verification modality
HOW THE UROLOGY EXAM IS CONDUCTED: During the course, the ongoing test agreed with the students is carried out. The test is carried out in a closed written form including 15 multiple choice questions. The result is evaluated during the final exam.
Oral test lasting approximately 15 minutes divided into two questions. The possible discussion of a clinical case on diagnostic material is expected during the exam.
VERIFICATION OF THE SKILLS ACQUIRED DURING THE INTERNSHIP: description of the internship as follows: one day dedicated to morphological diagnostics, one day dedicated to endoscopy, one day dedicated to functional diagnostics, one day reserved for clinical activity in the ward and one day of access to the Surgery Room.

Application of follow-up protocols. Patient management in the postoperative. Surgical sutures. Suture point removal. Introduction and removal of naso-gastric probe, bladder catheter, drainage.
