Extended program | Nursing documentation: nursing record The patient's nursing care plan: with respiratory problems with cardio-circulatory problems with diabetic problems with problems of renal failure with neurological problems Nursing care for the sick with oncological problems Safety handling and administration of antiblastic drugs Artificial nutrition Procedures, operating instructions relating to the aforementioned clinical pictures; drug maintenance, operational indications - Narcotics registry management - Safety measures for administration: general rules, dosage calculation and administration times Management of therapy, administration and conservation errors in some particular situations The initial and continuous assessment as a strategy to monitor adverse therapeutic effects: observation, nursing history, physiological factors, psychosocial factors. The development of self-handling skills: education in the autonomous management of prescribed drugs: compliance, therapeutic adherence and ineffective adhesion to the therapeutic regime. |

Educational objectives | Acquisition of basic knowledge concerning pathophysiological processes, along with elements of semeiotics, clinic, diagnostics and therapy, with respect to epidemiologically relevant pathological conditions in the internal medicine field Acquisition of the ability to identify the care needs of patients affected by pathological conditions in the internal medicine field Acquisition of the ability to identify the most appropriate methods of intervention for the patient's care needs, consistently with scientific evidence and through an integrated approach with other healthcare professionals, in the perspective of a treatment path that combines different skills and professionalism. Acquisition of the ability to identify the characteristics of the main class of drugs, with the relative indications and contraindications, as well as the relative adverse effects. |

A further question on the minimum necessary knowledge may be asked in the event of an unsatisfactory answer to the 2 previous questions. VERIFICATION OF CLINICAL SKILLS: interpretation of a radiological, instrumental specialist, laboratory report VERIFICATION OF THE SKILLS ACQUIRED DURING THE INTERNSHIP: description of a technology or diagnostic process relevant to internal medicine METHOD FOR ALLOCATION OF THE FINAL MARK: arithmetic or weighted average of the marks obtained in the individual disciplines, as established by the degree course |

Indications and interpretation of the main blood tests and arterial blood gas analysis. The ECG fundamentals. |

Cardiovascular system (clinical presentation, hints of therapy, nursing management): atherosclerosis, arterial hypertension, ischemic heart disease, pericarditis, endocarditis, heart failure, arrhythmias, peripheral artery disease, stroke. Respiratory system (clinical presentation, hints of therapy, nursing management): pleural effusion, pulmonary embolism, pneumonia, COPD, respiratory failure. Gastrointestinal system (clinical presentation, hints of therapy, nursing management): liver cirrhosis. Hematopoietic system (clinical presentation, hints of therapy, nursing management): anemia, thrombocytopenia. Sepsis (clinical presentation, hints of therapy, nursing management). |
