Educational objectives Within the degree program, this internship have to provide to show the professional aspects of management and genetic improving of the cattle, pig, horse, sheep, dog and cat..








D1 - KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
The student must
- know animal feeding and management.
- have knowledge of the evaluation of the specie/breeds,
- know the breeding methods of the main animals of zootechnical interest, the different types
of farming.
D2 - APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
At the end of the training the student will be able to:
- evaluate animal feeding
- recognize the main breeds of cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, horse, dog and cat,
- recognize structures of farms.
D3 - MAKING JUDGMENT
At the end of the training the student will be able to:
-assesse specific problems of management, nutrition and selection.

D4 - COMMUNICATION
At the end of the training the student will be able to:
- organize, prepare and exhibit, to an audience made up of people of equal level of preparation, a presentation on a zootechnical aspect with their own evaluations supported by appropriate arguments,
- support an adversarial process with people of equal preparation and experts in different issues, of a regulatory, scientific, procedural and / or
technological nature,
- demonstrate language properties in both written and oral form, as well as the ability to use terminology that is sufficiently appropriate for a
correct approach to the profession, which is also important for job interviews.
D5 - LIFELONG LEARNING SKILLS
At the end of the training the student will be able to:
- consult and understand scientific texts, even innovative ones, bibliographic updates, normative dictations, so as to employ them in
contexts not only usual for the profession, including research, but also originals,
- manage a sufficiently broad mastery of the subject to guarantee an acceptable basis for continuing professional updating through ongoing
lifelong learning.

The internship is designed to prepare the student to the professional practice and therefore in this period are investigated topics related to the techniques of breeding species (cattle, sheep, pig, horse, dog and cat). During this period the practical lessons are carried out the problems of management as well as those related to genetic improvement to each species. It also carried out inspections on farms under the supervision of the teacher

The main skills that students will acquire are:

- evaluation and knowledge of the species/breeds;

- animal feeding and management.

The main skills that allow to apply the acquired knowledge will be:

-identification of specific problems of management and nutrition

animals and advise the client on principles of husbandry and feeding e 2.4 (A knowledge of the businesses related to animal breeding, production and keeping), 2.7 (Legislation relating to animal care and welfare, animal movement, and notifiable and
reportable diseases)
Prerequisites
Teaching methods The training is organized as follows: - in-depth analysis of aspects that will focus on specific species issues and problems; - practical breeding actions related to the main aspects of the different species bred.

Learning verification modality Written examination by open questions. The result is not graded: just "pass" or "fail".
